Virtual reality is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. Applications of virtual reality can include entertainment and educational purposes. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. True VR creates completely immersive experiences for users. In slight contrast, AR and MR simply overlay a digital experience onto the real world.
